-
My name is Robert “The Gila” Vasquez. I was born in Huntington Park, CA and lived there my whole life. I played football for Huntington Park Senior High School all four years and was awarded the “Rudy” Award for two years straight until I my senior when the school named an award after me, the “Tutu” Award and is still given out to this day to the player with the most heart. I graduated from Huntington Park High School in 2001 and shipped off to the Marine Corps where I served eight years as an infantryman, demolitions and anit-tank expert. I deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan both twice. I started training in the Winter of 2006 in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under James Wright and competed in numerous BJJ tournaments. I started to fight in mixed martial arts competition in the Summer of 2007. I am a fighter in all that I do from avoiding gang members to Marine infantry to MMA. I’m currently out of the Marines honorably and a L.A.P.D. Officer candidate. I have been to war, been divorced and broken hearts, lost big MMA fights and won big ones, but I see everything in my life as a book and everything is a chapter with a new beginnning and I regret nothing and it has made me who I am today. I thank Peter Gunz Tattoo in Arcadia and Relentless Fight Wear for believing in me and being my sponsors.
Some of my accomplishments:

-BJJ Blue Belt under Randy Malacas.
-2008 Hayastan Grappling Challenge Champion

-2009 2nd Place Copa Pacifica De Jiu Jitsu
-Modern Gladiators Bantamweight Champion

Fernando Barrera “The California Bad Boy”

My name is Fernando Barrera AKA (California bad boy) I am 24 yrears old and live in merced ca in the central valley. I started training in the army in 2006 in army modern combatives. I have always been a warior and always liked action. When i returned home in 2008 i started taking mma classes at ultimate athlete in modesto ca. I trained with them for about four months then moved to merced. I begin to train with Jesus Reyes at Reyes Boxing Club . Since then i have been training in boxing and in escrimido karate. I take my training very serious i train hard everyday to become proficient in what i do. I keep a warrior mentality never quit and never accept defeat. To me mma isnt just another hobby to me its a way of life, its what i want to do as a career. On November 2 2009 i took all my medicals and eveluations to go pro, i passed everthing and was advised of a new program called cammo, I figured i would fight for cammo and get some experince in the cage before i go pro, thats where i met my first opponent Cody Silvett. On December 5 2009 Cody Silvett and i were put in the cage where we fought at 185lbs middle weight, It was a really good fight on both ends it came down to a split decision and he won. This is not the end for the California Bad Boy its just the beginning. On January 22 2010 im going back to the cage and im coming in harder and stronger at my normal weight 165 welter weight. I have a dream of being the best and making it at a professional level, my dreams will soon be a reality. I plan on making my first pro debut in the middle of 2010. I currently have a offer with pure combat in march in their young guns series. Until then im training for my fight on January 22 2010 where i will come out victorious, The sky is the limit for the California Bad Boy.

“(featherweight/lightweight mma, welterweight+ in boxing). Started training in march ‘07. predominately self taught (90-95%) world class striking and speed, very unorthodox and unpredictable.  in boxing there is no comparison.  speed rivals any man alive, as far as power goes i am a ko artist pound for pound one of the most powerful punchers ever in the game.  i can ko anyone with my jab.  ko power from the guard with my left.  i had a fight on 1/10/09 where i threw a roundhouse and tore the fighters acl in the first round.  great footwork and head movement.  defensive technician.  grappling strength of an ox, great judo and core strength. the fastest shot around, 100%  on takedowns (training or fights), unpassable guard(my guard has never been passed), good with underhooks and clinch(muay thai and greco roman). submission artist, can use rubber guard for gogo and loco plata(gogoplata from mount), eddie bravo type stuff like banana splits, vaporizers, and electric chair. i’ve submitted black belts. i took anatomy and physiology in high school as a junior, so that knowledge helps. can do flying submissions, very explosive leaper. 5′9″-5′10″ can dunk vertical jumping.  easily stated the most dominant fighter at this weight for the next 15 years, check me out. ”
